Aluminum alloy metal 2017A Al-Cu-Mg series aluminum alloy's primary characteristics and range of applications: This is a hard type of aluminum that may be heated to strengthen it. It is moderately plastic in the freshly quenched and quenched phases, excellent for spot welding, and forms well during gas welding. Intergranular cracks are prone, the alloy is well-machinable after quenching and cold work hardening, but after annealing, it is less so.
