1. What is aluminum alloy pipe 5052 (UNS A95052)
5052 aluminum alloy belongs to the Al-Mg series alloy and has a wide range of applications, especially in the construction industry. This alloy is indispensable and is one of the most promising alloys.
5052 aluminum alloy has good corrosion resistance, excellent weldability, and good cold workability.
The main alloying element of 5052 aluminum alloy is magnesium, which has good formability, corrosion resistance, weldability, and moderate strength.
Used for manufacturing sheet metal parts, instruments, street light brackets, rivets, hardware products, electrical appliances, etc. for aircraft fuel tanks, oil pipes, transportation vehicles, and ships.
5052 aluminum tube is an AL Mg series alloy aluminum tube. Magnesium is the main alloying element of the 5052 alloy aluminum tube and is the most widely used anti-rust aluminum material.
Process performance of 5052 aluminum alloy:
1. Forming performance: This alloy has good hot working plasticity. The forging and die forging temperatures are 420~475 ℃, and hot deformation with a deformation rate greater than 80% is carried out within this temperature range.
The cold stamping performance is related to the alloy state. The cold stamping performance of the annealed (O) state is good, followed by the H32 and H34 states, and the H36/H38 states are not good.
2. Welding performance: This alloy has good performance in gas welding, arc welding, resistance welding, spot welding, and seam welding. Crystal cracks are prone to occur during secondary argon arc welding. The brazing performance is acceptable, but the soft brazing performance is poor. The weld seam has high strength and plasticity, with a weld seam strength of 90% -95% of the base material strength, but the airtightness of the weld seam is not high. It is recommended to use 5A03 alloy as a solder to improve its airtightness and eliminate the tendency for cracks.
The cutting performance of 5052 aluminum alloy is poor in the annealed state, but it improves in the cold work hardening state.
