1. What is a Hastelloy B(N10001) sheet/plate?
Hastelloy B(N10001) is a high-temperature alloy with a nickel concentration of about 62% that is made up of nickel, molybdenum, cobalt, and other metals. It is a crucial component of the corrosion-resistant alloy Hastelloy. It is a metal that is a part of the nickel-molybdenum alloy and is resistant to corrosion by potent reducing acids (like hydrochloric acid).
Hastelloy B (N10001) is widely used in chemistry, the petrochemical industry, power production, pollution control, and other fields, especially in sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, acetic acid, and other work.
The exceptionally low silicon and carbon content of Hastelloy B (N10001) prevents the segregation of carbon and other impurity phases in the heat-affected zone of welds. Its welds have adequate corrosion resistance as a result. In restorative media, such as hydrochloric acid solutions of varying temperatures and concentrations, the Hastelloy B-2 alloy has exceptional corrosion resistance.
Additionally, it exhibits exceptional corrosion resistance in solutions of medium sulfuric acid concentration (or those that contain a specific quantity of chloride ions).
Additionally, it can be employed in phosphoric acid and acetic acid settings. The alloy only possesses the best corrosion resistance when it is in a favorable metallographic state and has a pristine crystal structure.
